J0010 is a Viscosity Index Improver (VII) from the Olefin Copolymer (OCP) family, produced through the polymerization of ethylene and propylene. It is a key additive used in engine oil formulations and is supplied in solid form as white, translucent blocks.

Key Benefits and Performance Characteristics of J0010

J0010 offers strong resistance to mechanical stress and helps prevent oil degradation and viscosity loss over extended periods of operation. This performance is supported by a Shear Stability Index (SSI) of 20–25 (or below 25). It also improves engine lubrication at low temperatures, enhancing protection during cold starts.

J0010 is soluble in commonly used base oils such as SN100, SN130, and SN150 and offers excellent compatibility with other commonly used additives, including detergents, dispersants, antioxidants, and Pour Point Depressants (PPD).

J0010 is used in the formulation of various multigrade engine oils, including SAE 15W-40, 15W-30, and 10W-30. It is suitable for passenger car engine oils as well as heavy-duty diesel engine oils. The typical recommended treat rate is approximately 2% by weight, depending on the target viscosity grade and formulation requirements.

Long-Term Storage

For long-term storage, J0010 should be kept in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight. The recommended long-term storage temperature is below 45°C. When stored under suitable conditions, the typical shelf life is approximately 24 months.
